NEW YORK - Sept. 8th, 2022/PRNewswire• In July and August of 2018 the Israel Ministry of Tourism recorded record numbers of tourist arrivals from the United States. Israel welcomed 78,000 American tourists in July 2022. This was a 4 percent increase over 2019 and 71,000 tourists from the United States visited Israel in August 2022.

"It is thrilling to once again see an increase in tourism to Israel from the United States, already reaching and surpassing our record-breaking numbers in 2019" stated Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States remains our most important market for Israel-bound tourism. Prior to the COVID-19 epidemic there was a record-breaking number of tourism numbers each month. We are delighted to witness this change and anticipate an ongoing upward trend for months and even years.

In line with in the United States, Canada is also on track to exceed its tourism numbers in Israel with 7,200 visitors in the month of July 2022 and 6,600 in August.

Israel has welcomed more than 4.6 million tourists in the year of 2019. 969,600 came of the United States. The country's officially reopening to travelers in May saw more than 600,000.
